    Greetings Globetrotters!

I hope you are well in these somewhat surreal and unprecedented times and that wherever you are in the world, you’ve been able to keep the travel spirit alive for when we can hit the road again and explore the globe once more.

We’ve taken our meetings online these last couple of months (as have many other clubs) and have more of the same planned, so make sure you catch up with the recordings if you missed them live.

Articles this issue feature Francesca Jaggs’ travels in India just before lockdown, David Redford in Odessa last May and an extract from Sam McManus’ Lebanon blog with a special members’ discount for some of his forthcoming trips.

There’s the first call for photos for the 2021 Club Calendar – I’m sure you’ve got some great images in your archives or did you get some new, amazing shots in isolated places? I look forward to seeing those pictures!

    Gavin (editor@globetrotters.co.uk)

    Happy 2020 Globetrotters!

Hope you all had a great Christmas – Did anyone spend it anywhere exotic, interesting or unusual? Do write in with your tales of adventure…

I managed a trip to Canada just before the festive period started – in time for the first snow of the season and the Christmas markets – you can see some pictures from one of my treks (including a coyote and a bald eagle) on pages 10-11.

It’s been wonderful to get contributions from longterm members as well as new members in this issue – there’s an article (p8-9) from an experienced explorer who has just joined and will be speaking at the London meeting in April fresh back from his latest expedition across Arctic Scandinavia.

The Picture Quiz remains incredibly popular – make sure you enter to win a year’s Club membership.

    Until the next edition…

    Happy Travels,

    Gavin

Here’s hoping that you enjoyed a wonderful summer wherever you live and/or wherever you went! Welcome to the start of Autumn/Fall and the latest edition of Globe magazine.

Last chance to get your pictures in for the 2020 Globetrotters Club Calendar – the deadline has been extended until 30th September.

There’s another picture quiz this issue, perhaps a bit more challenging than the last few but the clues are all in the text even if you don’t recognise the location using the pictures!

And don’t forget, it’s the AGM in November, so please make sure to arrive by 1pm if you’re a member and are coming to the London talks on Saturday 2nd November.

    Until the next edition…

    Happy Travels,

    Gavin (editor@globetrotters.co.uk)

Welcome to this first edition of
2019 – sorry it’s been so long since
    the last one.

    I think the weather is
still trying to decide what season
it is, so here are some stories from
    the sun and the snow.

Two more books to win this issue,
plus a year’s membership in the
    ever popular picture quiz. And
with the 2019 calendar well on
its way, it’s time to start thinking
about the 2020 one – so get those
    pictures ready!

    Until the next edition…

    Happy Travels,

    Gavin
