We have now booked speakers for online meetings for June, July and August 2020 to replace the ones that should have happened around the world.
For July 2020 we have two or three speakers of around 40 minutes, you will have to provide your own tea and biscuits.
We had 3 talks this month.
First Speaker: Anna Hughes – Adventuring without flying
Last summer long-distance cyclist Anna Hughes cycled the length of France from Dieppe to Nice, joining the Club de Cinglés du Ventoux along the way by riding up each of Mont Ventoux’s ascents in one day.
Second Speaker: Keith MacIntosh FRGS – ‘Back to Bamyan: a return to Afghanistan’
Four years after winning the first Marathon of Afghanistan, Keith returned to help organise the 2019 version, visiting Kabul and the Panjshir valley before heading to the beautiful Bamyan valley and the stunning waters of Band-e Amir.
Third Speaker: Jane Harries – Marathon des Sables
A short talk on the importance of attitude using Jane’s time doing the Marathon des Sables in the Moroccan “Sahara”.
Postponed due to technical issues with Keynote in Zoom:
Jacqui Trotter – The Stans
